World Cup Soccer is an international association football competition participated by the men’s national teams of the members of Fédération Internationale de Football Association or FIFA, the sport’s global governing body.

The world’s first international football competition was a challenge match held in Glasgow year 1872. It was a match between Scotland and England. At that stage the sport was rarely played outside the United Kingdom, but it grew in popularity in other parts of the world at the turn of the century. It was held as a demo sport with no awards at 1990. However, in 1904 Summer Olympics the IOC has upgraded the status to official event.

The world cup Spain 82 was the second one I ever saw played live and what in my opinion was one of the greatest of all times. This being the case since it not only was the first to include 24 teams but great matches like Italy Vs Brazil, France Vs Germany, Poland Vs. France and many others in a tournament which would set the record for most goals ever scored in a world cup; breaking the record set in Switzerland 54 by two goals. The world cup in Spain was also unique in being the first and so far the only one in which 12 teams qualified to the second round. This requiring a system where these 12 teams were put in to four groups of three with the teams to come in first place in each group going on to the semifinal. In all this however Spain 82 also had two factors which were rare and one of them being that no team left the world cup without at least scoring one goal and that three teams; Italy, England and Cameroon left the tournament undefeated. As for me, personally it would be the first time I would ever see my beloved Italy win a world cup though not the last yet other moments such as the ones listed below stick out in my memory.

1. Belgium Vs Argentina (1-0) was the first time the defending champions lost in the opening match of a world cup.

The Swans, as they are fondly called, were founded in 1912 (Swansea Town). They played their first ever competitive game against arch-rivals, Cardiff City which ended 1-1. They won the Welsh Cup at the first attempt and played regularly in the 2nd Division of the Southern League.
